This is the first season I’ve done much with our porch, since we didn’t love the exterior before we had it painted this summer (full exterior reveal coming very soon!). But now that we have the white house of our dreams, I was excited to deck out our front porch for the season. I headed to my favorite place for affordable home decor, Walmart, and chose a few key pieces that really dressed it up for autumn. Thank you to Walmart for sponsoring this post, as always all opinions are my own.
I think my favorite element are these great arched metal lanterns. They make such a statement but are only $16 each! I believe they are in-store only but I bought mine online and picked up in store which was super easy and saved me trying to hunt them down. (If you haven’t tried Walmart’s in-store pick up yet, try it! It’s so seamless and high-tech. Your items are delivered out of a giant tour when you scan your phone – pretty amazing!)
I also really loved how they tie into the black of our new porch lantern for a pop against the white.
I also added tons of neutral pumpkins. My favorites are always the muted pastels and of course the whites. Can you tell which ones are the faux pumpkins? I love mixing real and faux for even more impact. Walmart has a really good selection of pale faux pumpkins right now.
Every year I like to pick up some white mums, and this year I put them in this gorgeous white planter with great texture. It’s such a nice size, especially for the price!
On our outdoor wicker chairs I added these great plaid pillows,
which are reversible to gingham on the other side (and only $12!). I
love using plaid this time of year. Behind the chairs I hung one of my
favorite pieces, this gorgeous gold metal wheat wreath. It’s so affordable and such a nice large size!
Stacking pumpkins has always been one of my favorite tricks during the fall. Here I placed a stack on the steps but they also make a statement in an urn.
After saving for a few years to paint our exterior and then having it be a bigger/bumpier project than we intended this summer it felt so good to get to enjoy our home’s exterior and make it special for the season. I hope I could inspire you to do the same at your home!
I know fiddle leaf fig trees have been trending for like, five years now, but I feel like the faux-plant world is just now catching up with the demand. I absolutely love the look of them, but I have a notorious black thumb, and have always been pretty nervous to shell out $100+ on a…
Since sharing a few things over on Instagram that I had picked up for Evan, I heard from a ton of mamas that they’d love to see more finds for boys. It’s true that girls are easy to shop for, but finding sweet boy things (without a giant shark or firetruck on them) is a…
What I love about our house is that it’s a completely blank slate. It has great molding, nice flooring and a pretty neutral color on all the walls. But some spaces can look a little blah. From the moment we moved in I knew I wanted to give our main floor powder room a little…
The first everything with a baby is simply too much fun. So far we’ve had the first Halloween (she was one day old), Thanksgiving, Christmas, Valentine’s Day and now Easter. Though a 4-month-old certainly doesn’t “need” much or understand what’s happening, it’s still such a joy to shower her with fun little goodies to make…
Early in December my best friends and I took a quick girls weekend trip to get away together. One of the most fun topics of discussion was our favorite things. We discussed our “can’t live without it” items, and it was so interesting to hear what everyone’s were. This led me to think about my…
Each year I love to find beautiful and unique items to help you with everyone on your list. This year I’ve put together a gift guide that’s perfect for any lady in your life – sisters, friends, hostesses, coworkers, etc. There is also a wide range of price points whether you just want to give…
