Hi guys! I thought I’d share what I hope will be a helpful post for many. I get lots of questions about the items used in our home on social media and on the blog. I love finding a great home product recommendations (blogs are so great for that!) so I wanted to share what gets asked about most and my thoughts on each item. Also, just in case you didn’t know, there is a complete source list of most everything in our house under the Paint Colors and Resources tab. Check it out if there’s something specific you’re scoping out!
1. Our Living Room Coffee Table
This coffee table is probably the most asked about item in our home – and for good reason! It’s a classic bricklayer coffee table that can go with so many styles. It can go with modern, rustic, farmhouse or industrial looks so easily, and I’m sure many others! It’s the Anjou Coffee Table from Home Decorators Collection. We purchased it when we moved into our house three years ago, and are still very happy with it. It is very heavy and solid, and has held up really well. We purchased it before there were stain options, but I would say the closest to our table is the natural.
2. Our Jute Rug
We also get a lot of questions about this 9×12 jute rug from Overstock in our living room. I get asked a lot if it is comfortable and how it holds up. I would not say it is particularly soft. In fact, the first day or two we had it, it hurt my feet. But after we got used to walking on it it wasn’t a big deal. It’s definitely not plush, but doesn’t bother me. It does shed a bit, but I only notice when I try to do yoga on it : ) Overall I’d say it’s a classic jute that adds so much texture to a space.
3. Our Hearth Room Sofa
We purchased the Montgomery sofa from Birch Lane when we refreshed the hearth room about a year ago and I. Am. In. Love. It is crazy comfortable, so much so that I almost prefer sleeping on it over our bed! It is nice and deep and very plush and full. I love it so much I’m contemplating getting a second one if we move. I can’t yet speak to how the slipcovers hold up in the wash, because we haven’t had to wash them yet, but I’ll update this post once that happens. I love that it is a classic, timeless shape, but still casual with the slipcovers. I cannot recommend this couch enough!!
4. Our Hearth Room Coffee Table
I love this Yesenia coffee table from Wayfair because it’s a nice mix between farmhouse and modern. It has clean lines and a rustic gray wood top. It’s also great for our space because it’s a smaller size. We’ve been really happy with it.
5. The Painting Above Our Mantel
This painting may be one of my favorite things we own. Its a statement piece for sure, but is also very neutral and calming. I’m sad to say it was a TJ Maxx online find and it’s no longer available : ( If it ever comes back in stock (as things sometimes do on there) I will make sure to let you guys know! If you’re looking for something similar, I tried to round up a few similar picks shown below (if you’re reading this in an email or reader like Bloglovin, you may need to pop over to the blog to see the photos).
6. Our Nursery Glider
This is probably a close second on the most-asked-about list. I understand the tension when looking for a glider between wanting style, function, comfort and price. Gliders are stupid expensive, and I really don’t understand why. The Delta Children Upholstered Glider in Sand is so affordable and we have been very happy with the comfort. I’d buy it again for sure!
7. Our Nursery Flower Mobile
The flower mobile in the nursery is always so popular. I made it myself from flowers from Hobby Lobby and following the tutorial from Jones Design Company. It was pretty easy to make, but there are also a lot of pre-made options on Etsy. The most similar ones I could find are here, here, here and here.
I hope you guys found this helpful! Anything else you’d like to know about?!
Well, I finally have {most} of an entire room of our house to share! The living room and kitchen are the only two rooms that are mostly “done,” so today I’m sharing our formal living room. I’m pretty happy with how it turned out, but I also know this is definitely the “first round” of…

One of the questions I get asked the most is how I style all the built-ins in our house (we have four!). Well, let me tell you that shelf styling is a bit of an art form, and doesn’t always come easy. But I think with practice and the right elements it can be one…
I usually keep our dining table pretty simple, but I wanted to dress it up a little as I was cozying the house. I absolutely love how it turned out! This tablescape would be so easy to replicate. I grounded the whole thing with two buffalo check table runners, and the rest was…
Good morning friends and happy Monday! Today I’m sharing one of my favorite things to collect: antique butter pats. I have to admit, I went a little nuts buying them at the Sparks flea market, so I have quite a few sets right now. Somehow I managed to find around 5 or 6 different sets while…
